Category: Maternal Neonatal Nursing Bradycardia in the newborn (HR < 100 beats/min) reflects inadequate ventilation and oxygenation. As such, bradycardia is a major indicator of hypoxia. Simple stimulation is required to stimulate ventilation and reverse bradycardia.
