Category: Critical Care Nursing Transfusion-related acute lung injury presents as hypoxic respiratory insufficiency with onset within 6 hours of a transfusion, but usually starting within the first hours after transfusion. Hypoxemia, fever, hypotension and tachycardia may also occur.
