Category: Maternal Neonatal Nursing Cyanosis in the neonate may be due to a variety of cardiac, pulmonary, hematologic or toxic causes. Cardiac causes of cyanosis include congenital lesions with right-to-left shunts and cardiac lesions with decreased/increased pulmonary blood flow.
